Has anything got 100% on Rotten Tomatoes? ›

Fresh red tomato. When at least 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive, a red tomato is displayed to indicate its Fresh status. Green splat tomato. When less than 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive, a green splat is displayed to indicate its Rotten status. Faded tomato.

Any additional Rotten reviews could toss the movie from the 99% Club and into the gutter that is a 98% score, to associate with the likes of Wizard of Oz and The Godfather. You'll notice most in the 99% Club are from this century. Movies may or may not be getting better, but they are getting reviewed more.

Meaning of the reviews that rotten Tomatoes assessed, 95% of them were positive. It's a binary and doesn't go into how much each critic liked the movie, but it's still useful to look at the Tomatometer because it's become an industry standard of sorts.

The website keeps track of all the reviews counted for each film and calculates the percentage of positive reviews. If the positive reviews make up 60% or more, the film is considered "fresh". If the positive reviews are less than 60%, the film is considered "rotten".

Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score

The Audience Score is designated by a popcorn bucket. The score is the percentage of users who have rated the movie or show positively.

Whose movie ratings are more trustworthy, IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes? IMDb's rating are trustworthy in telling you the average rating given to movies by visitors to that website. Rotten Tomatoes ratings are trustworthy in telling you the percentage of film critics who gave movies a positive review.

In February 2016, Rotten Tomatoes and its parent site Flixster were acquired by Fandango (which is owned by Comcast). Warner Bros. retains a minority stake in the merged entities, including Fandango.

Other recent series with multiple seasons in the 100% club: The Good Place, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, One Day at a Time, Veep, Fleabag, Jane the Virgin, and Feel Good. Only Murders in the Building season 1 has the most reviews on its perfect 100% score.

Because it's “relatively” easy to get a 100% score after that first handful of reviews (five is the minimum count for a movie to get its Tomatometer), every film listed here has at least crossed the Certified Fresh threshold. Then we sorted them by movies with more reviews featured higher up.
