Looking for something quick, cheesy, and juicy? These hamburger sliders are perfect for game day and they are ready in just 30 minutes. They are a great way to feed a hungry group without breaking the bank.

Ingredients you need:

Use lean ground beef for the best results. The meat is still juicy and flavorful but it is not as greasy. Season the meat with Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Once the beef is browned, add all your condiments (mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard) directly to the mixture.

The Hawaiian rolls are sweet, buttery, soft dinner rolls. They cut through the richness of the beef and make these burger sliders even tastier! Use both American cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. They melt well and taste amazing together.

Apply meltedbutter to the toasted Hawaiian roll cheeseburger sliders for a buttery finish. It also helps the sesame seeds stick to the buns if you choose to add them.

Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and finally, enjoy!

Pro-Tips:

  • Have fun adding more hamburger slider toppings like tomatoes, pickle slices, and bacon.
  • Prevent soggy buns by adding cheese to the bottom layer of the sliders and also removing excess grease from the ground beef before piling it on the King's Hawaiian rolls.
  • You can assemble hamburger sliders 1 day in advance and just add them to the oven before serving.
  • Serve with your favorite burger sauce for dipping, like BBQ sauce or In-N-Out sauce.

Storing and Reheating:

Hawaiian roll cheeseburger sliders reheat really well. Microwave individual sliders by wrapping them in a paper towel and warming them up for no more than 30 seconds. If you are reheating a larger quantity, add them to a preheated oven or air fryer at 350°F for about 2-3 minutes or until warmed through.

FAQ:

Are sliders just small burgers?

Although they have similar structures and flavors, sliders and burgers are not exactly the same. Aside from the size difference, burgers are made with beef patties whereas sliders have a thin layer of beef.

What goes with sliders at a party?

Sliders are perfect for watch parties because they are a light bite (if you do not eat the whole batch!). Serve them alongside potato chips, peanuts, dips, popcorn, and other appetizers.

How long does it take to cook sliders in the oven?

Since the beef cooks on the stovetop, sliders take no more than 10 minutes to cook in the oven. You can take them out as soon as the cheese melts or the slider rolls are golden brown on top.

Cheeseburger Sliders

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Cheeseburger sliders are savory, shareable mini burgers made with seasoned ground beef and melty cheese between toasted Hawaiian rolls. Serve them as a delicious appetizer at holiday gatherings and Super Bowl parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • ½ Onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tablespoon Seasoned salt (more or less to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Mustard
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted
  • Sesame seeds (optional to garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. To prepare the cheeseburger mixture, preheat a skillet on the stove over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and onions to the skillet and use a spatula to break the beef up. Cook it for about 7-10 minutes, or until there is no more pink in the beef.
  3. Add all of your seasonings into the meat mixture including the: Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  4. Stir all of the seasonings into the beef until it is fully combined. Now add in the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard and stir it until it is fully mixed in.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat, and drain any excess grease.
  6. Use a serrated knife to cut the Hawaiian rolls in half so that you have a top and bottom bun.
  7. Place the bottom half of the buns on a baking sheet. Begin layering the sliders by adding the sliced american cheese, and half of the shredded cheese on the bottom half of the rolls.
  8. Now add the ground beef mixture directly over the cheese, spread it out into one even layer.
  9. Next, sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese directly over the top of the meat mixture, make sure you sprinkle it on evenly, and cover every surface.
  10. Now carefully add the top bun directly on top of the cheeseburger sliders.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, just until the cheese is melted.
  12. Remove the sliders from the oven and brush the melted butter over the top. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and enjoy!

What makes a burger a slider? ›

How to keep sliders from getting soggy? ›

How do I keep my sliders from getting soggy? To ensure these mini sandwiches don't get soggy, pop the split rolls under the broiler for a few minutes to toast them before building the sliders. This helps keep the bread sturdy so the sandwiches don't fall apart.

What goes well with cheeseburger sliders? ›

What size burger patty for sliders? ›

Divide the ground beef into 12 portions (about 2 ounces each). Pat each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty and make an indentation in the center with your thumb so the patties keep their shape while cooking. Sprinkle with salt and a few grinds of pepper.

Sliders are smaller than burgers and often contain less meat, but they are also more portable and more uncomplicated to eat. Burgers can be messy but are more filling and typically have more nuanced flavors.

Why do Americans call burgers sliders? ›

“Sailors in the U.S. Navy would refer to mini burgers as “sliders” because of their extreme greasiness. In just one or two bites the burger would just slide right down!” (InterExchange, 2023).

Should sliders be tight or loose? ›

Sandal straps shouldn't dig into your toes, feet or ankles. They should be snug enough not to cause chaffing or blisters, but should still be comfortable to wear for a long period of time. Adjustable straps are great if your feet are prone to expanding throughout the day.

Why not to use sliders? ›

The main reason to avoid using sliders is because they are terrible for your search engine ranking. I have seen sliders on business websites that were actually hurting their search engine optimization because they often blocked pertinent information that should be the focal point of a webpage.

Why are they called funeral sandwiches? ›

If your Southern spread is missing a batch of funeral sandwiches, someone's sure to notice. You'll likely recognize this sandwich, a two-bite appetizer that's a necessity when feeding a crowd. It's traditionally prepared for funeral spreads, which is where it gets its name.
