Synopsis
How far will you go for love?
A young Aji Mathew is a communist who goes the whole nine yards for the ideologies he believes in. When the girl he loves leaves to the US out of the blue and her parents fix her wedding, Aji is left with just a fortnight to reach the country albeit with no passport or visa. How far he is willing to go for love forms the plot.

After an interesting first act, the movie goes straight downhill with an underwhelming and boring narrative. Though it tries to address larger issues, it only ends up far fetched and unconvincing. Dulquer is charming as always, but can’t help the sinking ship beyond a point. Below par watch.

It hurts that I can’t give this movie 5 stars despite featuring drunk conversations with Che & Marx, the Nayakan soundtrack, and Brian Dawkins

Yaaaaassss I finally found it. A disappointing Dulquer Salmaan movie.
‘Tis a shame this movie isn’t great but hey at least there is an attempt at transnational solidarity albeit superficially shoehorned and drunk conversations with Lenin, Che Guevara, and Karl Marx. The promise that this movie’s premise had makes it all the more a let down with its tonal inconsistencies with only a few good moments and underdeveloped characters.
Also, he sees a woman buy condoms and assumes she is a prostitute??? Like what even???
Yeah, I’m definitely not a fan.But yo, I love you DQ!!!! And I love you in a mundu.
P.S. The US refugee policy is fundamentally broken and ‘tis high time the world changes its xenophobic attitude towards refugees. They deserve better. So much better.

Not Dulquer Salman assuming the woman is a prostitute because she bought a big packet of condoms 🙂

The plot seems to be not developed, scenes just went in a flow and had some mass scenes to end without making any sense.
Illusions of a drunken communist could've been a cool movie. -

Dulquer travelling somewhere. Doesn't narrow it down much, does it?

It's interesting watching Dulquer do his bit of Laal Salaam in the movies. Especially, seeing how well Amal Neerad introduces him on screen. Amidst chaos, where every other party worker is falling behind or broken down by the cops, he walk in with a Molotov co*cktail, throws it at the cops and behind him his comrades gather and the fallen ones rise again. It happens in slow motion, I mean how else would it be in an Amal Neerad film. It is effective, it announces the star that Dulquer is and it's the kind of wish fancy where it hopes Communism rises again as an alternative.
For the next hour or so, we see a meek foray into Dulquer as…
