Product: HP ENVY Notebook - 15-ae161nz
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Need help with function keys!
Since yesterday my function keys stopped working!
Usually, it was set to work by just clicking on one F-Button to adjust brightness, volume or whatever. Now, it does not even work when holding fn + F-Button...
Maybe an important information is that i had sent my laptop to the hp support for fixing the screen (they replaced a piece and now it works again). Maybe they changed settings during the process..
However, the action keys are enabled in BIOS, so that’s not the problem.
Hope someone is able to help me with this issue.

OK. That is better. 🙂
There is a liklihood that the BIOS may have been upated while it was in for service.
Use the PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility that is available by pressing F2 immediately after powering on to check that.
Connect the power adapter before you begin.
Click on Firmware Management and at the next window, click on firmware management. If the BIOS was updated, Rollback should be an option. If it is available, click on it to rollback to the previous version. This should probably resolve the Fn key issue you are having.

Hi Simon,
It would have been simpler if you had put your HP Notebook's product name in the box instead of your own. Please correct that so we can get some information of the hardware configuration of your notebook.

Hey there
First off, thanks for your advice.
Sadly, i was not able to rollback. The message said: Unable to open BIOS signature file.

Just figured there are test logs. Don’t know if that’s of any importance. One for the battery and one for the hard drive.
