Sent in an old S-K Wayne 1/2 universal I broke a couple of weeks ago, got the new one in the mail last night. It's nice to know that even though the original company has changed hands a few
times since it was S-K Wayne they still honor the warranty.

Do you know if they are honoring the lifetime warranty on Challenger tools? It's my understanding that SK made Challenger also.

They stopped honoring warranties when they went bankrupt 18 years ago. Shortly after, the new company (Ideal) started doing warranties again. I broke a whole box full of broken ratchets into a dealer in 2012 and they gave me a whole bunch of new warranty stuff.
Considering my first wrenches were SK Wayne back 60 years ago - it is pretty amazing they are still doing warranties.
I got a few Garcia-Mitchell fishing reel with a lifetime warranty also 60 years ago. NO more coverage on that.

Back in the days when you needed to change the spark plugs every 20,000 miles or so, SK came out with a 3/8" drive socket wrench for changing spark plugs.
I always liked that SK Roto head Ratchet, They were only available in 3/8 drive.
Recently I found that Tekton has them in 1/4-3/8 & 1/2 inch drives. I bought a 1/4" drive one.
It's head is just like the SK, plus it has the socket release that Sears had a patent on. Must be both the SK and Sears Patent have run out.
My new 1/4" drive Tekten does not say on it where it's made, just Tekton Chrome Moly.

I thought it was Challenger by Proto? Seems to me Grainger used to sell them, if so they'll also warranty them

I broke an old breaker bar a couple of years ago and they told me not to send it in, they just sent me replacement parts that didn't fit.

Correct. Challenger was Proto, not SK.
