• Laura LeBoutillier (maiden name Laura Kurth) is unquestionably the rising star in the world of gardening. Garden Answer, a YouTube how-to gardening vlogging with flair, skill, and valuable gardening knowledge, was founded by her in 2014.
• Laura says that she and her husband built their successful YouTube channel from the ground up in rural Eastern Oregon.

• Laura LeBoutillier was born to parents Mike Kurth (father) and Susan Kurth (mother).
• At age 15, Mike (Susan’s dad) started sweeping floors at Andrew’s Seed Co., then owned by another guy. The previous owner mentored him and after working his way up the ranks, Mike eventually bought the company. As soon as the kids started school, Susan started working there as well.

• The LeBoutilliers expanded their workforce and garden after producing 1,000 videos. They even updated from a home of one-sixth of an acre to a two-acre residence. They’ve hired more people who help with regular maintenance and film editing.
• The LeBoutillier YouTube channel shows no signs of slowing down. They’ve gotten a lot of attention, including a fan page on Facebook, called Garden Answer Groupies. In 2019, the Groupies planned a trip to Ontario to see the Garden Answer headquarters. Sixty individuals spent two days exploring the Andrews Garden Center,Ontario gardens,and helping out in the community. Laura attributes Garden Answer’s success to their upbeat attitude and practical, field-tested guidance.

• Based on her videos, Laura appears to spend most of her time in the garden. And, by most accounts, she probably does. However, it may surprise you that Laura has other interests, such as knitting (as in winter) and performing music. In order to improve her piano skills, Laura practices every day. She has been playing the piano since she was four and took classical piano lessons for 17 years. Brahms is her favorite composer.
• Laura mentioned in an interview with Claudia Marshall at Gardeners (January 25, 2022) that she grew up with a garden and that one of her favorite things to plant was freckled lettuce. It’s a green lettuce with red freckles that looks like romaine. Laura thought it was fantastic due to the name.
• Laura LeBoutillier gained the most gardening knowledge from her parents. They are genuinely quite close, and they too are nerds. Her social media shows them traveling on vacations to England with Aaron, and her parents to look at good gardens. The family often talks about gardens all day.
• LeBoutillier advises beginner gardeners to just go out and plant whatever they think is more enjoyable. A believer in action, Laura isn’t a book reader and does much better by trying and learning by doing.

• Laura had once planted a blue dune Lyme plant (Leymus arenarius) in her garden. This or any other perennial or grassland/garden thug plant can take over the life and spoil your entire yard. One of them is blue dune grass, which took her 3+ years to eliminate. It had a stunning icy blue top with a highly robust structure. However, Laura didn’t realize that it would grow like wildfire and take up her lawn…it grew everywhere!
• The two most common questions Laura gets are: “How much did that cost?” and “How much should I water it?” One can’t deny the fact that people want awesome plants that are inexpensive, as well as the most basic understanding of how to take care of them.

   Hi ! I discovered your show about a year ago & love it. What you, your husband & your staff have done with your property is amazing and really beautiful. I am 76 years old & have been a gardener since I first got married @ 17. And yes, I have been married to the same great guy all these years! But, because of physical problems, I am very limited as to what I can do now in our yard [I really miss it]. So your videos are a God send to me. I love your property & pretend that I am right there helping you. Thank you for every one of those great videos! God’s Blessings to you and your family.

   P.S.: Can I offer a little suggestion? Tie your hair back off your face. It’s pretty, but makes you appear as if you are prepped for the camera instead of working. Also, LOVE seeing you with dirty hands, the sign of a REAL gardener!
