  • RN, Recovery, PRN

For Day Shift:

  • Work one (1) weekend every 6-8 weeks.
  • OR is 8 weeks of on-call

For Brand New Nurses:

Periop 101 (AORN) is offered. Periop 101 is a standardized education onboarding program for RNs entering the perioperative specialty. It fully prepares nurses with consistent, current information in the classroom and online, and clinical experience to reinforce what they’ve learned.

Facility Overview:

  • is a 298-bed, full-service hospital which has served generations of patients in south Louisville. Originally founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874, the hospital is celebrating its 150th year of caring for the community. With that legacy and the backing of UofL Health academic research and expertise, Mary & Elizabeth is a vibrant, expanding hospital that offers a full range of primary care and specialty services.
  • Recently, Mary & Elizabeth Hospital announced the return of labor and delivery services. When “The Birthing Place” opens in 2025, it will mark the return of these services for the first time in 50 years. The hospital also celebrated the return of wound care services with the dedication of a new Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center. Additionally, Mary & Elizabeth received distinction in the area of orthopedics by earning “certificate of excellence” in both advanced foot and ankle, and shoulder surgery.
  • The hospital is home to the University of Louisville School of Medicine’s Family Medicine residency training program. The program relocated to Medical Plaza I at Mary & Elizabeth in 2022 and includes 27 primary care physicians, including three teaching professors. Also, in 2022 the UofL Health – Center for Women’s Health opened to provide a variety of women’s health specialties.
  • The Brown Cancer Center, located adjacent to the Mary & Elizabeth Hospital campus, provides patients with continuity of care with trusted oncology and hematology providers, along with access to the multidisciplinary care, pioneering research and clinical trials of the Brown Cancer Center. A second heart catheterization lab was opened in 2021 allowing the hospital to begin offering lifesaving STEMI services for patients suffering acute heart attacks. In 2020, a voluntary inpatient medical detox unit opened to care for patients with substance use disorders. Under construction is a new 33-bed behavioral health unit that is expected to open mid-2024. The hospital has also been recognized as one of the first health care facilities in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction® Center for bariatric surgery.

How No Cost Tuition Works

  • Full and part-time exempt & non-exempt employees are eligible to receive free tuition and their domestic partners, spouses and dependent children are also eligible to utilize the benefit.
  • This program covers all undergraduate programs at the University of Louisville.
  • Participants will have tuition and student activity fees paid by UofL Health at the rate of an in-state resident student upon enrollment of a given semester.
