What is the H2H category in fantasy baseball? ›

H2H Each Category is the most common type of head-to-head play in fantasy baseball. It allows you to select the "X" number of statistic categories. For each scoring period, team totals are accumulated and a win, loss or tie is credited in each category based on the matchup results (i.e. 6-3-1 in a 10 category league).

Prior to 2019, July 31 was referred to as the non-waiver Trade Deadline, and players could be traded after that date if they first cleared revocable trade waivers. The August waiver trade period was eliminated in 2019, with MLB moving to a single Deadline.

Major League Baseball's 2024 trade deadline is Tuesday, July 30 at 6 p.m. ET, as teams scramble making deals to improve for the pennant race.

Head-to-head leagues

In "Head-to-Head", managers play directly against another team in the league each Gameweek. The match result is based on the Gameweek score of each team minus any transfer points spent preparing for the Gameweek. Three points are awarded for a win and one point for a draw.

H2H, or Head-to-Head, refers to a fantasy sports format where teams compete directly against another team each game week, with the winner determined by which team scores more fantasy points. H2H leagues bring an intensely competitive and personalized edge to the game.

The Trade Deadline is the last point during the season at which players can be traded from one club to another.

The MLB Bereavement List allows teams to replace players who have to tend to a death or serious illness in the family. Placing a player on this list can keep him out from three to seven games, depending on the circ*mstances of their situation.

If a player has been on an active major league roster for 10 full seasons and on one team for the last five, he may not be traded to another team without his consent (known as the 10 & 5 rule). Additionally, some players negotiate to have no-trade clauses in their contracts that have the same effect.

A Fantasy head-to-head (H2H) league is like a real life football league, where teams play matches against each other to win points. Teams are ranked according to the points gained in Head-to-Head matches. This differs from a “classic” mini-league in Fantasy Premier League, where teams are ranked by overall points.

Head-to-Head One Win

This is identical to Head-to-Head Categories, except only 1 point is added to the W-L-T record per week. This scoring setting is available in fantasy baseball, hockey and basketball but not football. 1 added to Win - The manager with the most games won.

If a player is going through a slump, you might consider sitting him in a H2H league where three or four bad games can really mess up your week. But if you're in a roto league that is based on year-long stats, a few-game slump isn't going to kill you in the long run.
