Ocean State Job Lot is proud to partner with the University of Rhode Island Supply Chain Program. This week we had the pleasure of hosting supply chain students at our distribution center. Our supply chain leaders were thrilled to share their knowledge and a first-hand look at our operations. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with URI and invest in the future of supply chain management. #supplychain #growwithus #neverstoplearning

It’s not every day you win an award…but this is a special one as it recognises the efforts of Safehinge Primera as one of the most ambitious in the UK, as part of LDC's Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2023. We were recognised within the ‘Purpose Led’ category.Martin Izod and I met whilst studying Product Design Engineering at GSA, we launched our first product in 2009, and we wanted to make sure we were making products that did good. Since then, we’ve continually pushed the boundaries of what is possible, bringing countless innovations that help protect people through vulnerable times. And to be clear, this award is in recognition of everyone involved; we never create anything in isolation. Whether you’re a person with Lived Experience sharing your insights, or a clinicians enlightening us about life on the front line of care, or architects/estates managers who design, create and maintain these spaces. Or one of our many passionate team members and partners who’ve turned our ideas into a reality. You’ve all played a BIG role in this award and we want to say thank you to you all. That ambition isn’t slowing at all, we’ve got some really big announcements ahead….so watch this space! We’ll keep focusing on the people who live and work in challenging spaces, working tirelessly to apply our design skills and do our bit to help make these environments better for recovery or as a workplace.#codesign #collaboration #mentalhealth #purposeled #awards #design

Feeling glad after making a repeat visit last night to the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago as a guest lecturer for another cohort of Baumhart MBA students 🙂 During their Operations Management course (taught by Kate Jakubas, Founder of Meliora Cleaning Products), they pressed me to share my perspective on how to execute social impact work amid the unique (and not-so-unique!) challenges presented within the manufacturing industry. Among the questions they asked:📋 How do you derive objective information from subjective data?🔀 How do you navigate supporting your customers' long-term objectives while managing internal goals and also addressing existing limitations on resources and capability?🤨 What are those little tabs on the jar seal really for? While my picture might be black and white, my work certainly isn't! It's so rewarding to have opportunities like these to engage in dialogue with others and reflect on best practices and lessons learned.Visit the link below to learn more about the Baumhart Scholars Program.https://lnkd.in/gVGHHyUmPHOENIXGeneral Mills#socialimpact

Steve Christy and I had the pleasure of hosting a round table discussion with business leaders at the PEInational convention this week in Atlanta, Georgia.A group of 12 business leaders (operators, contractors, consultants, equipment distributors) had an open discussion aboutwhen, how, and what to invest in,and what are the pitfalls and barriers.Consensus points from this group:1. The #technology is moving so fast. Some investments less than two years old are obsolete, but doing nothing is not an option.2. Early adopters are predominantly global companies with a heavy European influence.3. Regional US c-store chains and global players are winning the race for government rebates, leaving independent owners searching for answers.4. Charging As A Serviceis becoming a hot topic, seen as a reduced risk path to get in the game with minimal Capex investment.5. Real estate is a challenge. Less than 50% of existing C-stores have enough space to install EV charging at a safe distance from traditional petroleum fueling dispensers. Takeaways:1. Get your plan ready. Focus on design flexibility, future adaptation and expansion.2. #SupplyChain constraints will continue to be a challenge for the foreseeable future.Project plans need to have at least 15 months from permit to completion. Thankyou to Sarah West, MBAand the #PEI leadership team for the invitation to lead this conversation. What’s nextis a huge challenge. It takes all of us to keep the momentum moving forward. #EMobility #FastCharging #PEI @https://lnkd.in/gxj2vEzb
